Bruce Conn

Freud said the two most important things in life are work and play.  We know about his work and we’ve heard about his play.  I’m trying to balance the two.

Bruce Conn became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 1994.

He earned his M.Div. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, North Carolina, in 1984.  

From Gray, Georgia, Bruce has been married 30+ years and has three children.  He works in the field of counseling doing group, family and individual therapy.  His play time takes him places with family and friends to enjoy the beach, golf, bicycling, and lots of other things.  As Bruce says, “I like my work and I like my play.”

Christian ministry was his introduction to counseling.  Bruce completed a Master of Divinity in 1984 and worked at Smoke Rise Baptist Church east of Atlanta for four years before realizing his vocation could be better worked out in the counseling office. Clinical Pastoral Education moved him toward a working balance of self awareness and care of others.  Further education in systems theory and marriage and family therapy rounded out his clinical skills.

28 years on, Bruce does psychotherapy in a variety of settings.

Daily, you can find him at Coliseum Center for Behavioral Health doing group therapy with folks struggling with depression and addiction.

Bruce’s private practice is located off 3263 Vineville Avenue in the Middle Georgia Association of Realtors facility. Here, he focuses on individual, couple, and family psychotherapy and counseling. He preforms marriage seminars on request. Many seek his services for addiction intervention consultation, as well as, Professional Recovery.

Bruce Conn is extending his knowledge via various media outlets.

He wrote for the Macon Telegraph from July 2013 to June 2018. His article, “Coupling,”was designed to make us into better people where we struggle to find the balance in self-expression and service. Bruce Con has appeared on a variety of networks discussing human interest stories regarding mental health, including WMAZ, WMGT, and WGXA.
